Our goal is that employees, customers and other individuals are always informed about how the company works and collects personal information.

I. GENERAL

Everyone has the right to protect their personal information and that it is not in the public domain. Vaka cares about your personal information and Vaka has adopted this privacy policy to ensure that all personal information is handled in accordance with the law.

The aim of Vaka, hereinafter “Vaka” or “the company” with the formulation of the privacy policy is that you and other contacts of the company, whether they are employees, customers or other individuals, as we may from time to time, hereinafter collectively referred to in the third person as ” customers”, or in another person as “you”, are informed about how the company processes and collects personal information.

Our privacy policy covers the registration, storage and processing of personal information covered by personal data protection in the sense of the Personal Data Protection and Processing Act, whether it is collected and stored in electronic form, on paper or by other permanent means.

II. PERSONAL PROTECTION LAW

Regarding the processing of personal information, Act no. 90/2018 on personal protection and the processing of personal information as it is at any given time, as well as the relevant parts of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of individuals in connection with the processing of personal information and on the free sharing of such information .

III. WARRANTY AND CONTACT POINTS

Vaka is generally responsible for the registration of personal information and the processing of that information in its operations and is the so-called responsible party for processing in the sense of personal protection legislation, but may in some cases be the party processing the information.

IV. COLLECTION AND USE

Vaka may collect personal information about customers for the purpose of:

  1. To provide access to products and services in accordance with the provisions of commercial agreements
  2. To ensure that services are adapted to their needs
  3. Sharing information for marketing purposes
  4. To attend to the legally protected interests of the company.

Vaka only collects information about customers that the company is obliged by law to obtain and preserve, or if the processing and collection is in accordance with the parties’ agreements or for other legitimate interests of the company, or with the consent of the data subject. In this way, Vaka only collects information that is necessary to provide advice or services at any given time. If you choose not to provide personal information, there is a possibility that Vaka will not be able to provide you with the requested products or provide the requested services.

When you view and use Vaka’s website, the company collects data sent by your browser for the purpose of improving the user experience and increasing security, i.e. data that may include information such as IP address, browser type, browser version, pages of the service, time and date of visit and other numerical data.

Vaka uses cookies to distinguish you from other users on the company’s website. Cookies are small text files that your browser saves on your computer if it is configured to accept the use of cookies. The cookies enable Vaku to remember certain settings from you in order to improve the user experience and obtain statistical information about the use of the website.

V. MEDIATION

Vaka never uses personal information for purposes other than those for which it was obtained. The company never stores personal information longer than is deemed necessary in accordance with the provisions of commercial agreements or as a result of the law.

Vaka does not share personal information with third parties except after obtaining consent or in accordance with the provisions of the law and commercial agreements. Vaku is permitted to share personal information with a third party (processor) who is a service provider or contractor on behalf of the company and then for the purpose of completing a project or providing a service or product that the customer has agreed upon. Vaka only hands over to processors the personal data deemed necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes.
In cases where a third party (processor) gets access to personal data, Vaka guarantees confidentiality and that the data is deleted after processing. Vaka never rents or sells customer personal information.

VI. PROTECTION

Vaka emphasizes that personal information is stored securely. Vaka also ensures that appropriate technical security measures are taken to ensure maximum data security at all times. Vaka will notify without delay if there is a security breach concerning the personal data and which entails a risk for the person concerned. A breach of security in the above sense means a breach of security that leads to the unintentional or illegal deletion of personal information, its loss, alteration, publication or unauthorized access.

Special attention is drawn to the fact that you are responsible for the personal information, for example name, social security number and photos, which you choose to share or send on a public forum, for example by sending photos or other files to the company’s website, or via Facebook or its Instagram pages.

VII. PRESERVATION PARTY

Vaka’s accounting data is stored in accordance with laws and regulations on accounting entry and preservation. After that time, the data is deleted. However, information on returns is not deleted.

Vaka makes every effort to keep customer personal information accurate and reliable and updates it as necessary. Vaka retains personal contact information until otherwise requested, and for as long as is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

VIII. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to and can at any time request information that Vaka stores and concerns you, by sending a written inquiry to [email protected]. The request is then processed and, if applicable, the requested information is provided to you within a reasonable time. Attention is drawn to the fact that delivery is always subject to the restrictions imposed by the rights and freedoms of others, including the privacy of third parties, trade secrets and intellectual property rights.

You will be notified and given an explanation if there is a delay in processing or if it is not possible to comply with a request for delivery, no later than one month after its receipt. You always have the right to submit a complaint to Personal Protection if there is a dispute about the handling of personal data.

IX. CHANGES

This privacy policy is reviewed regularly and may therefore be subject to change without notice, and you are advised to familiarize yourself with the privacy policy regularly, but changes enter into force upon publication on the company’s website; www.staging.vaka.is .
